Nice setup, did you also install the aluminum magazine catch? Read that is required for optimal performance with the Shield 15 round mag.

Indeed. It's not so much for a "performance" issue, well not initially, until it totally chews away at the plastic Glock mag release. :)
Plastic mags need a plastic release. Metal needs metal.

I really think i need to jump on the 43X train. It is the perfect carry gun right now. I just hate that they keep developing a more perfect gun lol. I love my 43 but the added rounds and larger grip are totally worth the admission

Funny. A friend texted me a few months ago telling me they just bought a "...G43, don't ask me why..."

    Can't remember who that was...

I have ten plastic for range use, wanted to purchase the steel for carry, love those extra rounds. I assume since the steel is for carry only, I can leave the plastic release in there. Of course I would verify a few test with the steel mags.

Of course. carry with steel mags and the stock release.
    Shoot with the plastic mags.

Shooting plastic release with the steel mags is not an immediate destruction. I think it was Military Arms Channel (MAC) on youtube. I forgot how many mags he shot with the plastic, but they did start chewing away the release after his testing. At the time I don't think he had a metal release.

And honestly to me, I don't think most people shoot enough that this would ever be a problem. But certainly something to be conscious about.

Now, as Spring shooting season comes around, I will see what the metal release does to the plastic mags. I say this now but will most likely long forget.

Nice gun, Blaster. I had occasion to fire a friend's a few times. Handles well, more comfortable to shoot than my Glock 43. I think I might prefer the 48, but they're both good. Not a fan of that slide racker thing. Indeed, I'd put a Striker Control Device on mine instead (have them on a few Glocks), which are much more important to me. +1 for the Vickers slide stop. Your sight choices are similar to mine on all my Glocks (I Dot Pros by Ameriglo). The silver slides have grown on me a bit. Shield Arms mags are getting good reviews. Only heard of a handful of issues among the many they've already sold.

Oh, there's a guy on Glocktalk who puts Glock 17 trigger shoes on Glock 43, 43x, and 48 trigger bars for like $30. It eliminates that serrated trigger and keeps the trigger more "stock" (at least a Glock part) if that matters to people.

I went with the trigger group just out of sheer desperation. I heard Apex was one of the popular go to sets. I didn't think about add on shoes. I figured it was an easy buy and maybe the set would be a little nicer trigger press.

I think most of the mag problems were earlier models. They started making stronger springs and I think that alleviated the issues. I also believe their customer service was pretty awesome as they were replacing springs for those with issues. No problem.

Yeah, the slide racker thingy. Initially it appealed to my tacticoolness as an aesthetic. I have seen other gimmicks, but this one was so minimal that it really isn't gobbing up the slide. But what I did notice is that it gives me a tactile point of reference when I am racking over the top.

I'm not lying to myself. I didn't buy this thinking that it will help me rack the slide using my heel, table top, etc... Those days for me are pretty much over.
Steel rear sight wins that race anyway.

just got my shield 15 round mags in. loaded one up with 15, no problem, at least using the maglula thingie. they drop free pretty good. will need to give them a workout to ensure reliability.

I'm sure it must feel like wearing nothing after carrying a 229 brick. I remember going from a 229 40 to a M&P40c and thought I was in heaven. Now that I'm an old fart, the Sig 365 with a 12 round mag is pretty much like wearting nothing.
