My 11.5" AR SBR has been having issues when suppressed. The bolt never locks back on the last round no matter what kind of mags im using or ammo I shoot. The odd thing is it will always lock back unsuppressed, but never locks back suppressed. It will also kick brass in the 2 O'clock position when suppressed. So I'm guessing its overgassed? I changed out the buffer spring for a heavier one, but it didn't fix the issue. I am also running a Spikes T2 buffer. And suggestions? Should I give the heavier T3 buffer a try?

    Thanks

    What barrel?

Do you have a BAD Lever Installed?

    What Buffer Spring?

Get this buffer and you can configure it.

Noveske likes to overgass their barrels so you will need to tame it down.

I suggest dumping the springco. I know other guys on other forums chant their praises but the springcos are nothing special IMO. There are 2 springs in my world. Colt Factory Action Springs, and Tubb.

You can try the Tubb and the user configured buffer I listed. If that does not work you will need adjustable gas. You probably wont be able to pin it because the noveske is already pinned. SLR adjustable Gas is where its at. My 2 noveskes use them because they are grossly overgassed with a can, ESPECIALLY a 5.56 can. .308 cans dont overgass as much.

Thanks for all the info! I think I will give that combo a try.

Another option is the Black River gas port inserts. It means removing your gas block but you can control the gas without anything to break, and use your pinned Noveske block.. I want to say a 0.071 gas port insert would run weak 223 unsuppressed and not smoke you out suppressed.

And then do the "do it yourself" gas buster CH:

That KAK buffer kit is nice, I wish I would have known about it a few years ago.

I went balls to the wall on my dedicated suppressed uppper: SLR adjustable, LMT Enhanced Carrier, and Vltor A5.

The above combo results in soft shooter that runs relatively clean.
