Can anyone recommend a 55+ community around Howard Co? While I would love to move to Va, doesn't look like that is in my immediate future, but the wife may be up to moving to Howard Co. Me, I want to get out of the 2 hr. grass cutting, weed whacking, etc. every week crap. So maybe a TH or Condo in a nice area. Thanks in advance.

Try Nells Acres in Eldersburg. A step up from the liberal hell of Howard County.
Right next to Liberty Reservoir on Rt 26 and close to AGC.

I am not a realtor or have any financial interest, my mother lived there before her passing

Why not hire a landscaper? I live in a gated community that is a 'defacto 65+ community'. There's a HOA that takes care all of the lawn, grounds, and even bush/shrub maintenance. For the amount that is being paid in HOA fees, I could save a lot of money by hiring my own landscaper. Are you sure you want to move into a socialistic environment?

No luv for HoCo.:D Yeah I could just pass the yard work off to someone else. Been in present house about 17 years, longest in any one place. Sort of itching to move, Va would be my preference, but don't see it happening for awhile.

Just me, but I'm seeing two different things with only partial overlap.

Townhouse or condo, with management/ owners assoc handling upkeep of grounds and common areas.

Explicitly segregated for geezers. ( I'm allowed to jokingly say that.) ( And yes, I hang with 80 somthing and 90 somthing guys, and have huge respect for them.)

Just because you would qualify to enter one of these places, doesn't me you wouldn't rather have people of variety of ages in your vicinity .

There is one around my way, off of gorman rd in howard county. I live in the community that is right next to it. They are still in the building phase. On google maps, its marked as M/I homes Walden woods villas. Seems like houses with no lawn to cut. it would be a private community, and easy access to major roads.

There's a nice +55 community right at 144 and Marriottsville road in West Friendship. The farmland it's built on used to be in my family.

I live nearby this neighborhood and was about to mention it. The area is convenient to everything. Fosters Country store just occupied again by Towne Grill BBQ. Easy access to shopping and restaurants at Turf Valley. West enough in the county to feel away from the crowds but close enough to everything via 40 or 70.

One caution there's a new neighborhood going in just east on Frederick with another 320 homes so it IS getting crowded out here..a desirable area of the county for the schools.

Oh and REAL REAL REAL close to AGC!!!
