So I have this 9mm Colt style dedicated AR lower from Engage and I'm really wanting a reciprocating bolt upper for it. I found this one from Young Mfg. and also the upper to put it in. Being as it is a Colt design(the lower), does that mean a standard bolt(non ramped) will work ok? Or should I go in a different direction and forget about the recip. bolt idea. I really don't want to throw a bunch of money down the drain on a finicky gun. Ultimately this will be a suppressed SBR.

    The bolt:

    The upper:

    Input is greatly appreciated.

The linked BCG won't work for 9mm and I don't think Young makes one yet for 9mm. I wish they would though. I'm running CMMG 9mm bolts in growing collection of pistol caliber setups and I've had zero issues so far. Suppressed 9mm SBR is becoming my favorite setup to shoot.

Yeah. I definitely want something reliable. It will be a HD gun. I'll order parts from Chad's list. You'd think someone would've come up with a reciprocating side charger for sub ARs by now.

These will work with a standard 9mm bolt just fine. I have a CMMG ramped bolt in my Colt 9mm setup and it works perfectly.

I think he wanted a reciprocating bolt/upper, much cheaper than these...... But this is still a trick setup, if your willing to pay $250 for a upper.
