Am I correct that under the FSA of 2013 as enacted in to law --a Maryland resident that legally owned what was then defined as an assault weapon prior the the date of the law was grandfathered in with no action required by the owner?

A Maryland resident that legally owned what is now defined as a copycat weapon or a copy of an enumerated rifle/shotgun has that particular weapon grandfathered in with no further action. (There were no assault weapons prior to the date of the law, just regulated firearms and assault pistols.)
