Has anyone ever done it with spring kits they sell? How did it work out? I have 2 period correct WW2 jobbers with worn springs. Gun functions fine with aftermarkets, only shoots 3 or 4 rounds with WW2 springs.

Time takes it's toll, I suspect they were left full for decades and stress was left on the old ones. Hard swap or is there a place I can send them?

Not sure about replacing, but movement of a spring wears it much more than leaving it loaded. Either way, older springs typically don’t have as good metallurgy or winding/heat treatment. So they do wear out a lot faster than newer springs. Probably wasn’t leaving the mags loaded for decades. It was probably just running a few thousand rounds through them.

The story on mine we'll never know. I'm still convinced if they're compressed for 80 years they're going to conform but that matters not. I'd LIKE to rebuild them but if it's too big a deal the 25 dollar mags work well in it.

Where are you finding $25 Luger mags at? I'd like to pick one up
