I picked up a box of .38 plated 148g DEWC at Timonium show yesterday. Anyone have experience reloading with west coast and bullseye powder. The 2.7 g of bullseye I use with lead HBWC also work for plated ?

Based on my experience with Berry's plated, you'll need more powder. My first .38 reloads were using LRN numbers, but they were way too light and would squib. I checked Berry's site and they recommend using FMJ numbers.

I've had good luck using load data for XTP bullets (same basic style as I'm using). My current load for .38 is 3.2gr Hodgden's Clays behind a 158gr Berry's HP.

I just bought some X-treme 158gr RNFP that I'll be trying once I get some small primers.
