Oklahoma House committee just passed Constitutional Carry AND passed another bill that will allow school districts to have teachers armed.

It now goes to the full House. http://www.news9.com/story/37617926/state-house-committee-passes-2-controversial-gun-bills

The House is apparently trying to attach Constitutional Carry to a Senate passed bill which is a very bland clarification of the CCW law. I'm guessing this is being done to avoid a Senate committee. Perhaps there's an anti gun chairperson in the committee where the bill would go and that person would desk drawer veto.

OK House passed the bill last night, 59-28 http://kfor.com/2018/04/25/oklahoma-house-passes-constitutional-carry-gun-bill/

13 members didn't vote so I don't know whether they'll have a veto proof margin.

    EDIT: https://legiscan.com/OK/rollcall/SB1212/id/743599

9 GOP and 4 Dems didn't vote. If those just vote along party lines, then that'll be 67 votes, just enough for a veto override. Of course, the weasels always come out after vetos and there was one Dem that voted Yea. You can bet that one will have his/her arm twisted if it comes down to a single vote.
The Governor has a pretty strong 2A resume, but ConCarry is always a challenge, so that's why I'm interested in these numbers.

This is a lesson to any states that want to pass similar legislation.
DO NOT PASS IT AT THE LAST MINUTE AND LEAVE IT ALL TO THE GOVERNOR.
WV did the same thing the first time around and got burned. If you have veto proof numbers you need to pass it with time to spare to override.

Or, alternatively, if you are a legislator who wants to be able to claim credit for voting for it, but don't really want it to become law, work with your leadership to get it passed at the last minute.

On a positive note the issue is still on the table for this years' election and most of the GOP candidates for Governor have said they would sign it. But still it's stupid to leave it to chance (unless this is all a show like the Obamacare votes).
