I am looking for a bow for white tail deer. This will be my first bow. I hunt out of a tree stand. A co-worker of mine recommended the Hickory Creek Mini In-Line Vertical Bow. I was looking for any feed back; good, bad , or ugly.

No hands on experience here, only my thoughts watching a video. Seems like the lower limb would hit the shooting rail if your stand has one (my ladder stand does). Also, seems extremely expensive. You can shoot deer with a $300 xbow.

I can say that the guy that recommend this system to me is an avid deer hunter and has a lot of experience with rifle, muzzle loaders, and crossbows and years of white tail deer hunting. He has had other crossbows and has decided this one serves him best.

That being said - there are a lot of choices out there and I will take all of the advice I can get. I have not yet made up my mind.

One thing looks apparent to me, I bet it’s easier to carry a mile or more when you can’t sling it because of a 27 lb climbing treestand & backpack on your shoulders. A “regular” x-bow doesn’t carry well, with the grip of a rifle but the bulk of the bow weight perpendicular to the carry axis, torquing your wrists each way uncomfortably to the point of annoyance. Might be balanced better too when 30 ft up in a tree.

I hope someone get this and reports back here. Just because it looks weird doesn’t mean it doesn’t work great. I still think from the photos it looks like you could very easily shoot your hand off, or string-wack it pretty good. I wish you luck, let us know how you make out.

I like some things about it and not others. It needs a couple more years of practical use and development. As a first bow, I would hold off, for now.
