    Anybody have one?
What is your opinion of them?

Due to arthritis I’m down to 2 revolvers, but am missing my Colt 1911. I had an officers model in 45ACP, but it was getting to hard to shoot accurately and to work the slide.
I’ve been eyeing a Colt Defender, but am concerned that I would have the same problems as with the .45.

    Thanks for any replies.

I have two Defenders in .45 and love them. Speaking for myself I really don't much like the 1911 platform in 9mm...I think more compact pistols are more efficient for the 9mm caliber. 10mm...yes it's awesome in the 1911 platform and I own several. The .38 Super has many adherents and it has history and competition devotees. For the capacity and weight I think there are better choices...and I'm a Colt guy.

That being said...I know people with 9mm Defenders and they love them so what do I know?
