The platform is a very expensive I am aware.
I have a interest in a Barrett Rifle.
That being said , I am confused as how to have it shipped to MD.
I think the upper assembly has to registered as well as the lower?
    can anyone elaborate.

    Thanks,

Depends what model Barrett you are interested in. An M99 Barrett is just considered a regular rifle (not regulated).

There is no upper and lower on a M99. It's all one piece. The pistol grip unbolts, buttpad slides off and then you wiggle the bolt out. That's it. Simple and effective.

The other mag fed Barretts are regulated.

The one Barrett banned in Maryland to my knowledge is the "light fifty" which I believe is the 82A1.

Otherwise have it sent to your FFL as a regular long gun and transfer it. I don't understand the confusion I suppose.

This was Cash and Carry but my FFL dealer freaked out a little bit when it came in

The Barrett 107 and light fifty are named as banned! Barrett doesn’t make a light fifty the m82 is nicknamed the light fifty. The m82 in 416 is good to go.

    That is not .50 cal.

The real answer is, ask an MD FFL if they will transfer that to you. If so, buy it.

If not, try a couple of others.

The Barrett Light 50 is banned. There is no actual model called the Light 50.

Plus, that one you link to is not .50 cal.

    Good luck

Stop raining on my party. :lol2::lol2: How can they Ban a model that does not exist?

Practically, I would consider a "light .50" being the M99 Barrett model. You can possess that in Marylandistan...
