I took the leap, submitted all of the paperwork, waited patiently, and received my C&R a few weeks ago.

Figured I needed to make it worth my while so I put an order in on a CZ50.
It came yesterday and has definitely seen better days but the action is crisp and the barrel while needing some cleaning seems to be in decent shape.

It is beaten up but that is what draws me to the C&R arena.

Set aside some time for this upcoming weekend to tear it down, clean it up, and inspect properly.

    Congratulations Hooker2!!!

There are few better feelings in the world, as when a gun is delivered right to your front door.

    :party29:

    Hahahahaha.
That was my exact sentiment. My wife said 'they just delivered it to the door? That's cool!'

She also likes the feel and looks of it so I may need to get another.............

Congrats, that was my first C&R purchase too. But that was 20 years ago.

Congrats on your CZ-50. It's definitely cool to have a handgun delivered directly to your door. :) As said, it probably won't be your last C&R purchase... :innocent0

Mine came from Century. I placed my order on 10/01/2013 because it was my first "FU O'Malley and your HQL" purchase. :tongue01:. They were a lot less then compared to J&G's prices. But what isn't these days? Century was selling them with extra mags, holsters and several other goodies.

Interesting that, at the time, a number of folks on the forum told me Century wouldn't ship a handgun to me. I guess after 7 years I won't worry about that...

Enjoy your new toy. CZ-50's are fun shooters.

There is a guy selling some wood grips on eBay for the CZ50. You need to dremel out the safety pocket on the grips so that the decocker will work but they are pretty nice and not too expensive.

This is how my OWS CZ50 came out with the grips.

Type 14 or Type 94? Inquiring minds need to know and demand photos when it arrives.

Type 14. Looks pretty nice just need to clean it up a little bit. Bore looks nice too! Don't see any import markings either. So Far I learned that it was made at the Toriimatsu Branch of the Nagoya Arsenal in July of 1942. Patiently waiting for some ammo to arrive. It has a fantastic trigger pull, can't wait to shoot it. The mag release is a little tricky to operate, doesn't protrude beyond the surface of the grip at all, not sure if that's the way it's supposed to be or not?
