I wonder if that's what I have. My de-bubbaed SKS is black paint what is either chrome of very shiny silver steel. I can scrape the paint off with my finger nail.

    Weird.

Why would he cover up the chrome?

I wasn't sure until I saw on the receiver, but that definitely looks chrome. That and the fact that it is EXTREMELY hard to get paint to stick to chrome, and since you can rub it off with a fingernail, that's probably a clue.

Why in the hell would you do that to a chromed rifle? I know it wasn't you, it's just mind boggling.

Built from rusted parts. Not a complete firearm. Technically not a Bubba gun.

17-1/2 inch barrel with a banded front sight and hood from a Mauser.

    Parkerized.

    Handy and fun to shoot.

    ^^^ lol... Thats a bubba job.. :)

Ive seen worse than that, i even got one in the mail worse than that cause the auction didnt show the front of the rifle. you can see someone cut it down, then it wouldn't function so they tried to seal the gas system with what looked like JB weld:rolleyes: .I dismantled it in the end, I was gonna drill the gas hole bigger but the bit snapped half way through, i sold all i could and scrapped the receiver and barrel, i still came out ahead.. Luckily!

Lucky Guy, My wife sucks at gifts, i buy what i want instead.

    :)

    My wife buys awesome gifts.
Year before last for Christmas, she got me 2 AR lowers and a nice 2 stage trigger kit. As a wedding present, she got me a Sig 2022, decided she liked it and wanted it for her own, then took me the shop and let me pick out my own pistol. Ended up with an 9mm M&P. She sometimes alternates between gun stuff and motorcycle parts. But they are always awesome gifts.

Pretty sure I won the marriage jackpot. We just celebrated our 2nd anniversary yesterday. :)

So I finally got around to getting more pics after I cleaned up all the cosmo.

I'm fairly new to C&R, so maybe someone can help tell me what I got here. Other than being a mid 80's-ish Yugo, I can't really find much else, and I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking at. I don't see any stamps or other markings, and all the serial numbers seem to match.

There is one electro-penned number inside the trigger guard, and it looks like the same number is written on the stock on the cutout just above the safety. It's very hard to read, but it looks like the same number.

(I hope the slip on butt pad isn't some kind of cardinal sin.)

And the well used Chinese, my most recent acquisition. Hope to get a Tula and a Yugo M59 eventually.
