What's with "You've been quoted"??

Just received a system email about having been quoted in a thread...

Never happened before, so I'm guessing it's a newly activated feature... but...

I can't find where to TURN IT OFF!!!!

Waitaminute ! Tags ? I thought MDS was above all the sophomoric internet scorekeeping crap . ( The obsessions about post counts is bad enough .)

Happened to me too. I got an email notice after you quoted me, and there is a new quote tab in the user control panel. I just clicked off get emails from administrators in the second picture below to see if this solves the issue.

Turning off admin emails was my thought too... Not preferred, but I might have to.

And I agree with Biggfoot44 that the "scorekeeping" was something we generally agreed was a bad thing some time back.

Hopefully I've solved the email side of it with shunting filters...

But then there's still the issue of the "notifications" in the software that mimic PM notifications...

Looks like my filters work as intended... No more annoying notifications about this silliness.

Now I just need to remember to flush every so often.

I did get a prompt asking if I wanted notifications. Now I get them like I do for YouTube. Not sure I want that. Yeah will be curious how to turn dis stuff off.

He's activated some new bits in the software that seem to be intended to track/enhance the inter-communication of members (to coin a term).

Never saw a prompt here...

But, I'm now stripping user tags from quotes, and not 'tagging' or using actual screen names, so no one else gets a barrage of email at my hand.
