Congrats on your new baby! I have one waiting to cool off. I’ve heard so many good things about the G3 I just had to get one!

Honestly thought those were stock images from Taurus itself until you said otherwise. Wow.

And welcome to the gun ownership family. Take good care of it, be safe, and it'll take good care of you. And as others have mentioned, it may be your first, but I'm sure it won't be long before you get the itch for more! A gun in a safe likes company ;)

Taurus should hire you, those are better than what they have on their site. Congrats- I was a somewhat 1st gen as well, parents are Anti’s even though my Dad and most of our family heritage was USGI. First time buying a gun and shooting is kind of like first time sexual Congress, it’s a little scary, a little awkward, but very satisfying.

Very scary, but I'm glad I got a "foot in the door" with them. And I would not be opposed to leasing this images to them lol.

Great pics and welcome to the forum. I'm actually pining for a Taurus TX22 (once it becomes available again and haven't checked if it's now on the MD handgun roster). It's been getting fantastic reviews.

Thanks! And due to ammo prices, I'm now looking into one too, hope you don't mind some friendly competition! :)

    Holy crap that's good photography!

    Many thanks!

It's my first gun, but I hope to have many more in the future, can't wait to look back at the Taurus G3 with fondness and thanks :lol2:

Thanks! I'll be sure to do that! I just sent them all a few YouTube range etiquette videos along with all the range rules and a full itinerary for the day. It sounds....stuffy when typed like that...:sad20::lol2:

Many thanks for the complement! I took these photos for later reference and I'm thinking about far off in the future once my collection has grown and each firearm has had similar pictures, I will make a photo-book of my collection. And yes, I plan on getting more...well, I say plan but it's more like the Taurus G3 is asking for friends! :lol2::cool:

    Congratulations and welcome!!!

Yep! Currently taking some USCCA training. Other than that, I've convinced....somehow...my whole family to go to a nearby range to get basic gun safety class at the end of the month, we already booked! We are going to stroll in there 6+ strong lol. But on a serious note, I take safety very seriously. Before we got to this point we already had a safe and already had been practicing holding and retrieving the firearm from our bedside safe in a controlled stress scenario. (Using an orange 1911 training gun) I have my wife run surprise drills once a week. She is getting into it. I showed her that guns can be modified with cerakote and that seemed to have boosted her interest in them by a lot.

I plan on taking at least 40+ hours of training before the year is up and I'm saving up to get a couples membership at a range near us. Once ammo prices fall I plan on having us go to the range 2-3 times a month.

Good for ya’ll. My wife I still a no. Taken her to the range once. Didn’t go great. Mostly she hated that she liked it. She’s a die hard liberal. But like in the blinkered, this is the way kind of. All admit to being a liberal gun owner. But also willing to evaluate new evidence. Did that with guns a few years ago. Been hunting and owning guns for, 5 years now I think it is.

They accumulate quickly. She doesn’t stop me from teaching the kids to shoot or hunt and she appreciates that we own guns in these uncertain times. Plus she likes the results of my hunting. Hell, she didn’t even bat (much of) an eye when I bought body armor.

Guns are still scary to her. Though she can at least be around them without getting freaked out now.

In-laws are a big no. They politely acknowledge that I hunt and don’t have a problem with that. My mother-in-law is one of the grandmas demand action types. My father-in-law just keeps quiet. He grew up with a 22 and .410 back on Long Island shooting squirrels and old beer bottles and cans in the woods. Owned a .30-06 in to adulthood. His brother is “holding it” for him (and has been for like 40 years). My wife’s uncle is huge in to guns and hunting and we’ve bonded over that.

My family is a big no. My brother, before he passed, went trap shooting once with work buddies and enjoyed himself. My parents are anti-hunting and anti-gun. I think the last person to OWN a gun in my blood relatives was my great grandfathers.

And now it begins for you young paduan. LOL! More training and this will lead to more firearms. Its a same what we have to go through here in the Peoples Democratic Socialist Republic of Maryland just to have the privilege to exercise our rights.
