If the front pivot is large pivot then send the lower to ADCO for a permanent sleeve so it will work on standard uppers.

It's not going to destroy it's value.

They can also remove the sear block in the lower too so all aftermarket large pin triggers will work in it as well as all bolt carriers.

When ADCO "removes" the sear block, you still cannot get a Geissele High Speed National Match trigger in place.

When I had mine done by them and contacted them about the issue, they went on a tirade that they had done what they said they would do, and were not liable for any other work.

Funny thing was, I NEVER ASKED FOR THEM TO DO MORE WORK FOR FREE. I just wanted to know if they could do what was required.

John at Duffy's finished up the sear block to the point were the Geissele would fit.

You are correct ADCO does not completely remove all of the sear block.

I completely remove them when I do the job.

I do all of the work that ADCO lists for the Ban Era Colts except for putting bushings in the front pivot bores.

Reading this thread really makes me want to get the neutered front sight replaced and sear block removed on the Colt Match Target that I got from Lou.

How much does something like that cost?

    Depends on who does it.

I used to charge the following:

    Sear Block Removal $125
FSB Ban Era FSB and Replace with new FSB and Drill for Oversize Taper Pins $175

Unfortunately, I did not know you when I had mine done.

For everyone else, if you have a sear block rifle DO NOT SEND IT TO ADCO for this work. Take it to Chad, and have it done RIGHT.

Or you will still end up sending it to Chad, and paying twice.
