my CZ 455 can shoot both 22 LR and WMR. However, you have to swap out barrels to do so.

Recently .22WMR ammo has become merely difficult to find, rather than unobtanium.

It provides a substantial level of power for hunting ( and other uses that require power). But is expensive enough that you won't be plinking with it.

It is generally cheaper than brass cases .223

It is no 22lr, but prices are slightly below .223. If or when prices subside back to about .15-.18 per round I'll highly consider getting a 22wmr.

A good rule of thumb is to only shoot the caliber that is marked on the gun

Not disagreeing with the rule of thumb, BUT:

    .38 Special in a .357 Magnum
    .44 Special in a .44 Magnum
.223 in a 5.56 and vice versa (some caveats)
7.62 in a .308 and vice versa (some caveats)

There are a number of ones that ARE interchangeable.

Best rule of thumb, if it doesn't fit, don't force it. :)

Well, all this 22 talk got me riled up to where I couldn't stop myself. Didn't want to spend the extra money for the Ruger 6 when I could get this in a 9 shot and it has good reviews so I have one of these coming.

At least it should be coming. They sent an email that said "The item does not meet Maryland’s melting point guidelines.* Please advise on how you would like us to proceed with your order."so I referred them to the handgun roster which lists ALL Heritage .22lr/22wmr Rough Riders as legal. Waiting on a response
