What exactly does the handgun roster board due to examine a pistol? Seems like any quality firearm with a trigger guard should pass if I'm not mistaken?
Did everyone somehow forget the roster board was busily approving NFA weapons (SBRs) a few years ago? There's a mechanism for handling stuff like the Maxim 9.
OK, I did some research. I called the MSP. They have received several inquiries about the Maxim. As a matter of fact, the nice lady was on the phone with someone earlier in the day about it.
Long story short, they DO need a sample, but the MSP does NOT need to be an FFL/SOT to receive the sample. They fall under a Form 5 transfer as a gov agency. But a FFL has to do the form 5 to the. MSP and when they are done, the MSP does a F5 back to the FFL.
SO there we have it according to the MSP.
