I was working in Greenbelt, MD during the earthquake in August or September 2011. I remember I was in my manager's office doing an exit interview as I was moving to a project at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. The earthquake hit, walls shook, a ceiling tile fell, people down the hall started yelling "Earthquake!" and we ran outside. When we got outside it was sunny and my manager (she wasn't the sharpest cookie and was rapidly promoted to a management role because people didn't want her hands in the code) said "Wow, that's weird, it's sunny. I thought earthquakes were during thunderstorms!?!?"

My son texted me and asked, "were we supposed to have an earthquake today?" :lol2:

In his defense, he was still passed out sleeping when it happened - he was a senior in HS, and didn't have school that day because it was Freshman orientation.
