Another effective means of destroying 2A culture in the U.S. Fear and ignorance of firearms and the 2A will spread and bring about its final death knell.

Be warned Harford county schools are very much aware of this and sent out something informing their staff of the law going into effect. If you've got kids in HCPS, make sure they don't talk about having firearms in the home. Cecil County is also probably going to be aware very soon, if they're not already.

You must be mistaken.

The forum idiots have assured us that this law won't effect anyone.

Certain school personnel are very excited about this, and lamenting the fact that this is "just a bandaid" and "only temporary." The ones I know are thinking in terms of suicidality and being able to restrict access to means for kids who are at moderate to high risk, but they don't understand how far-reaching it is and what an overstep of rights it is.

Talk to your kids.

They'll certainly try. "Access to methods" is one of the big risk factors for completed suicide. If they have a legal avenue to get the guns out of the home, they'll take it, because they're not going to trust the parents to effectively secure their firearms away from their children.

That's the way it worked in Florida. First Red Flag case in Florida was a father losing his firearms because of a threat by his son.

A cop can't do on without an investigation, I don't know one officer that will do one on your say so.

Again, friends and neighbors CANNOT do a 1302. Read the damn law, and stop reading into it.

As soon as you say that you do, you will be 1302'd before you know it. The police will not take any choice. The liability is WAY to great for them.
