Sorry you had to be the one to get the bad affects. I was sore for a couple of hours, maybe. I'm sure a little flu like symptoms beats what I watched my friend go through with shingles. He was miserable. And I do mean "shoot me to end my misery" miserable.
    I got the shot quick!

Edit: P.S. To stay OnT - I loaded 200 LC 30-06 with 150 Sierras over 47.5 grains of VV N135 for the M1 & 1903 and a ladder of 150 grain Speers over VV N135 to find a light, but functioning load for the K43.

During this miserable weather day, I finished loading another 200 45 Colt and 50 rounds of test loads for my new 7.62x40 (compliments of a MDS member). I'm trying to get up the energy to load up a bunch of cast 30-30 loads. Winter, bah! :whack:

I haven't loaded a round since before my move (7/2018). So far today, 98 rounds of 147 9mm, 3.2 gr of Titegroup. I would love to find my 9mm case gauge, it's been MIA since the move. Along with some other things I need.

    Jim,

Just pull the barrel out of your pistol and use it as a case gauge. Shooters have been doing that for years before case gauges became available to the general public. ;)

If it weren't such a hassle, I'd do that  I found the case gauge, so it's all good. 9mm is one pistol caliber I don't have a revolver for. Also, I knocked out another 300 rounds today.

Even having and testing with my case gauge, I still pull the barrel and plunk it (after changing dies) when loading for semi-auto pistols.

This is especially important when you load with cast boolits. I found this out when I started loading cast for my 1911. I discovered that I could not load them to the COL (1,267") in my load data, because the barrel was not throated. Until I throated the barrel (pretty easy to do yourself), I had to load them at ~1.242".

Most OEM barrels you get with pistols these days aren't throated. It takes an extra step during manufacturing, and shooting FMJ bullets doesn't benefit much from it. So, they don't do it.

I had to drop a KKM barrel in my M&P 9 because the factory barrels had no throat whatsoever. KKM throats their barrels for lead bullets and they turn anything you drop it in into a tackdriver.

So glad to be back at the bench. Sized and primed 200 9mm and did 50 to final crimp. Snow day tomorrow so will finish them then. Picked up 6.5X55 and 30-30 dies at Reddings Auction last weekend. Might dabble with those for my Swed and Marlin.

I tried to load a batch of .357 148 wad cutters, but I ran out of Bullseye. It is really hard to run out of Bullseye. Somehow in the last 2 months, I loaded over 1500 rounds.

    100 rounds of 110 A-MAX in 300 Blk.

Came across a brand new box of them so I figured WTH. I had the brass just sitting there, doing absolutely nothing...:innocent0

That’s what snow days are for.

I need to make a big batch to unleash binary style before 10/1/19. I’m planning a boat trip the last of September this year.

Yup. I set my 550 up last night in preparation for today. Instead, I woke up at 0500 to no snow and a lot of shop work to do, so I ran on in. Got a couple hours in and came home and hit the press.

Got my reloading bench fully set up again and loaded 200 223. Doing a few other projects then hopefully loading another 100 223.

Hoping there is a decent deal on varget at the York gun show this weekend as I am almost out

I started reloading a couple of years ago and it has taken me a while to find the bullets that work best for my purposes. I have bought a lot of small batches of bullets for each caliber while developing my favorite loads.

Now that the research is done, I have finished loading all of the small batches of different bullets remaining on the shelf. I had several different .223 and 9mm and got those done last weekend.

The plan is to rebuild my inventory with larger orders of fewer different rounds in each caliber.
