Well, Quinn will not win. His campaign is poorly ran, poorly funded, no name recognition, little to no ads, he is not back by any major party and quite frankly can't draw a crowd. The only thing that will come of out for those that vote for him will be a reliable poll, which in the end will result in nothing. This cry that if Hogan vetoed these two gun bills would result in some great A2 revival in Maryland is a figment of imagination. In a state where Democratic voters out number Republicans 2 to 1, and those democratic voters have been taught to vote democratic and pressured to stay that way. We as gun owners, hunters, and outdoors men have a problem. States here in the east are really dictated by this, the fact most people have lived in a city all their live. The fact the vast majority have never have handled a firearm, much less fired it, people here could really careless about the outdoors. They are all about them, and what is in it for them.

Larry Hogan is the second Republican Governor of Maryland in nearly 50 years and the first from Anne Arundel County, Maryland to be elected in over 100 years. This is not BS, it is fact. We will never get people to think like we do, until less we can change the narrative. To do that we have to show that Republican's are not what the Democratic party has made us out to be. Have you ever considered that if Hogan vetoed the bill things could have been worse? Already a Federal Judge has pointed out to the State that the law as written is extremely vague. So it is possible that the could have been rewritten making it harder to overturn this law. I think the same goes the "Red Flag" law as well. With at said, is what do we do now to have a viable candidate for the next election cycle? Who do we get lined up to represent us, would Craig Wolf be acceptable? Is there anyone else out there? The time to start preparing is now, would you all not agree.

Some here would rather "punish" Hogan, even if we are the ultimate losers.

If Hogan "loses," he goes back to his ultra successful business and comfortable lifestyle as a private citizen. We, in turn, are left with Jealous in the Governor's mansion.

Who are the real winners and losers in that scenario? Seriously.

and THAT makes ZERO sense. It is leftist thinking. Almost a small version of
    TDS....

I find it hard to understand that people can't get the idea of which is better for Maryland and that there are ONLY 2 CHOICES at this time. If they want to elect someone else, they need to get on the ground floor and organize NOW for the next election. This one is over, there are 2 choices only.

This is a much, much longer game than one election. No nose cutting here, just seeing the forest instead of one tree election.

Demonstrably false. Kindly look at your ballot. Are there more than two candidates running for governor?

sure, but there are 2 that have run a good enough campaign to garner the vast majority of support from voters. I am sure (if you are being honest) you know that either Hogan or Jealous is going to win the election right?

What are the chances of Quinn winning? Will he even break 30%?

If forced to wager on the outcome of an election (which is illegal basically anywhere?), I surely would not bet that Quinn would win. But to say that there are "only two choices" isn't true. If Quinn breaks 30%, I'll buy both of you a beer.

I speak only for myself, but Hogan's political calculus with our inalienable rights utterly and thoroughly disgusts me. I cannot abide the horse trading of our rights in exchange for the avoidance of having to defend his defense of our rights to the communist venture capitalist.

Our principles and values mean something, or they don't. Hogan came up immeasurably small in a moment when he could have had a spine and done his job. Instead, he chose to further his career prospects at our collective expense. Then, he took pictures with the bitches that supported those bills to show how "pragmatic" he has been in his time as our governor.

I'm done with him. If he wins re-election, I hope he actually stands for our rights, but I won't hold my breath, and I won't give him money. I did not vote for him. Fvck him.

The end that would have resulted from Hogan vetoing those bills would be honoring his oath to uphold and defend the Constitution!

I agree with you but 60% of the states voters DON’T agree. I think he could have pushed back a little more but not much. We have the situation we have, not because of Hogan, it’s because for the last 150 years Maryland has been a liberal stronghold.

As the country becomes more divided along political ideological lines the party with the most control will make the rules as painful as possible for the minority. Until the situation changes at the local level no governor will ever EVER be able to make significant headway on anything the majority of voters deem as “too conservative” regardless of it’s constitutionality.

He didn’t create it and he wont be able to fix it.

That being said a republican AG and Governor might be able to successfully push back against (or at least not interfere with lawsuits against) unconditional laws through the federal courts. Go Craig!

Lastly this is a conversation I’d rather have face to face. We could agree to disagree over a beer and wings and maybe I could become more enlightened in the process. Lets keep hoping for positive results on a national level next Tuesday.

I CERTAINLY APPRECIATE where you are coming from. You are of course 100% correct, Lawn Chair Larry has folded to EVERYTHING the left wanted. He even sent our right to due process down the river. UNFORGIVABLE.

He has STILL been MUCH BETTER for Maryland and US than Owe'Malley was - MUCH BETTER. Yes voting for Hogan will not stop our decline into full on socialism, but allowing Jealous to win by inaction or a vote thrown to a candidate we already know can't win will immensely accelerate that process.

I respect your choice either way of course and understand your reason, I just have a different idea.

Oh and i will take that beer, but I think your money is safe, Quinn will never get 30%.

Agreed wholeheartedly with your last paragraph. I am opinionated and engaging in person, but am not very comfortable in debating/conversing on the internet, which is why I don’t chime in much. I too prefer face to face.

So I'm voting for Hogan, holding my nose, but still voting for the man. What he did to Pat Mcdonough in the Baltimore County Executive's race is unforgivable and please don't even try to imply that he's a pro-2A governor - he's done nothing for our community. He's also spoken out against the NRA and the President, and as far as getting "folks to start accepting a second party", well, those folks have always liked Democrat-leaning Republicans, ask Connie Morella and Allan Kittleman. My vote is a vote against Jealous, not a vote for Hogan.

No where in this exchange... will you find a statement from me... which attempts to bill Hogan as any pro2A fighting man.

I’ve stated my reasoning in this matter carefully.

    Thanks for voting.

A quick note on Quinn. I do not believe he ever took this election seriously. I received information about his campaign from one of his family member back over the summer. I went to his website, signed-up to be a volunteer with his campaign. I never heard back. I repeated the process in August. I never heard back. I have not received as much as an email from his campaign and I sincerely thought he had just dropped out of the race.

I sure do like his political stance, but why would I vote for someone who doesn't take their own campaign seriously?

Maybe Soros or Bloomturd paid him to stay in an take votes away from the republican just like they did to Virginia. See how that worked for them?

The blind can’t see it here.

Hogan can and will win this election even without the support of those who actually value their gun rights. Like many of the Hogan supporters here have pointed out, this election is also largely about the down ballot races. The local folks and MGA folks can ride this Hogan wave to victory, hopefully in some cases to defeat Democrats and build our numbers.

Here's the problem with blindly supporting Hogan. How do you ignore his record on guns and support him and not expect for our GOP assemblymen to carry on with the "common sense" gun bills? A message needs to be sent to them that one day Hogan will be gone, and that on a local level gun owners are an influential part of the electorate, and this red flag/bump stock bs ain't gonna fly.

I just don't know how you support Hogan overwhelmingly AND send that message. Despite what the MUHHH SOCIALIST screamers here say, the MGA is where the sausage is made, not in the Governor's mansion.

    Here’s the problem...

You think folks blindly support Hogan... you can not be more wrong.

Supporting the battle we are in to bring this state to a point where the majority does not see “conservative” as a profanity is what we are doing.

The blind support is going to any candidate who CAN NOT POSSIBLY WIN NOR HELP US IN THIS BATTLE.

That blindness is KILLING THE MOVEMENT TOWARD THE RIGHT IN THIS STATE.

What the hell good does it do us to give the state back to the left when we have not yet secured it?

And votes spent on also rans... are votes which will do just that.

And there lies part of the problem, politicians forget WHO’s in charge and then you have some who are like cult followers to their candidate. They need to be held accountable for their actions at all times. Voters should be in charge of politicians destiny, don’t you agree?

Are you a cult follower of Quinn???

    Stop calling people names.

More choices on the ballot does NOT mean the others have a damn chance.

Thinking Quinn has any chance whatsoever of winning this election is a damn delusional fairytale unicorn and rainbow hope for pie in the sky.

    It can NOT be done.

    Agreed...

I respect each person’s choices of who to vote for.

Which is why I have not called others names because of choices I disagree with. That shows complete disrespect.

I debate my point. But I won’t stoop to calling someone a fanboy, bot, cult follower, or other derogatory nonsense name. We are supposed to be better than that here.

Yes...let's punish the better option by allowing the nightmare to take office. Yeah, we will suffer. But at least Hogan learned his lesson and he will be a better Republican.

Then we can post how it wasn't our fault because we did the right thing...in our mind.
