    At Wal-Mart, buying more ammo.
Thanks for writing that article DeadEye, I didn't realize you were a poster to this forum, and I'm a little surprised they would even publish such a positive article.

There were several themes there that I hear echo'ed throughout this site and other well informed places in cyberspace. I probably should have posted this under the thread about the article... in any case, thank you and great work!

    Thanks Gents:

Almost a year ago I applied for a CCW, after having issues in my neighborhood, and throughout the state, primarily in Baltimore. I am still "going through the process". Although I knew of MSI's efforts, I kept beating my head against the wall, writing to the NRA and asking what were they doing in our State, which was seemingly nothing. A few moths ago, I got a letter response from an email I sent to our Delegation, from Delegate Dwyer, inviting me to the House Judiciary Committee Meeting. Almost simultaneously I received a reply back from Delegate Smigiel, both of which have been fantastic in supporting this issue. Anyway, imagine my surprise when I finally latched onto this site, thinking I was the only one who gave a crap about the Second Amendment! Guess I need to get out more often :D
Point being, thanks to all who have and continued to support this effort. Nothing tweaks me more, other than someone messing with my family, than someone playing fast and loose with our Constitutional rights. Our Founding Fathers knew what they meant, as they were God given, and inalienable. In essence, taking away someone's firearm is like taking away the air they breathe.

I realise this is an older Post. But this gun control crap is again started up. So we again have to deal with the know nothings in Maryland who want to stomp our rights into the ground. If there is a post dealing with these recent issues, I'm sorry. I saw this one and started getting off before I saw it was an older post.

This whole Panic thing after the sad state of affairs in Arizona I can understand. But these people who want to jump up and claim nothing like this would happen in Maryland if everyone who owned a handgun only had 10 rounds or less is a pipe dream.

They failed to recognise the real problem. A mentally Ill person owned a gun. No one did squat about having this guy checked out which from what I understood is legal if the parents called and had him committed for observation. The Mother was too scared by her abusive alcoholic husband to say or do anything. And the Father..........I don't know if he stayed so bombed out of his mind to actually see his son needed help?

I hate to say it's the Parents fault, I mean this guy is over 18. But he certainly wasn't going to turn himself in because he thought he was a little off. If nothing else had they done so? Things may or may not have turned out different? But enough of me draging the Parents through the mud!

It also bothers me also that people have their own agenda in this State and want to rule the rest of us with an Iron fist because they love power and believe their own hype! But Frosh's ASS needs to be VOTED OUT OF OFFICE!!!

It makes me sick, and I let the House and Senate know so. I did write it in such a way that was respectful, but I also laid it on Frosh hard. I believe he's just a little Tyrant who thinks we're all stupid. I got news for you Pal. We're Not!!

I just wish I could vote against his winey rear end, but he doesn't represent in my District.

    Great post, saltydog.

Amazing how many views and posts some other threads on this forum have, yet the legislative updates are comparatively devoid of life.

I sent off another email to the Senate Judiciary just 5 minutes ago. URRR, I want so much for this state to be...

    ...not like it is.

    Ugh.

Write your letters, kids. Tell 'em how you feel. (Good point saltydog, to keep it respectful...OMG that is hard to do).

I'll be sitting in the "bleachers" on Thursday watching them make the sausage in Annapolis. I'd rather do jury duty, but they need to see many of us there taking a stand.

Thanks Boondock Saint for the support! I also am a member of Maryland Shall Issue as I see you are too. I got my info and warning from them as well as the NRA. I hope our people here on MD Shooters realise we are in a very serious battle right now and they need to over-load the State House and Senate with emails, letters, or phone calls letting them know they VOTE, and they are against this Socialist use of power! And they need to do it NOW!

    God Bless this Country!

You may want to look a bit deeper into that AZ shooting. Not only was the guys a wing-nut, but the local sheriff was aware he had made prior death threats :mad54:

Seriously - MSM never says jack about that - it's always directed towards guns and gun owners.

So LE ignores a nut case, who then is able to get a gun and shoot up a lot of innocent people - and this is a mag capacity issue how?

I could cuss a blue streak over that idiot and you damned sure bet the whole lot of people injured/killed should sue that stupid, fat, lazy SOB clear back to the old country.

I've written several Letters to the Editor if you Google Charles Soverns you might even find them, I've written countless emails and taken several "guns are evil" friends to the range (all of whom ended up seeing why I loved it).

I just joined this site and for the past 3 days, I've bene reading many post and learning about the gun laws in Md and how they affect me as a citizen. I'm willing to go here adn there and rop a letter or make a call. Just don't want to be ignorant on the topic, so that is why I am reading and there's alot to read. But prior to joining this site to answer your question, I have one nothing because I didn't think it was that serious. I like to collect and buy and never thought my rights were being enfringed on. I'm a firm believer that conceal carry would deter alot of the BS that many Md victims had to endure because some Adam Henry carries a gun illegally and preys on innocent people to victimize them. So, I guess I better get educated and start acting. Thank you for all the information. I hope I can be a productive and contributing member of this community.

I take members here and AR15 shooting at a small, private "range."
I always take new shooters when they are willing and pay for their ammo.
I attended the Senate Judiciary Hearings 2/10/11 - even though my health has not been that great and the drive home sucked big time.
I called and emailed every single MD legislator, conveying my thoughs of a few anti-gun Senate bills.
    I joined MSI
I bought an MSI lapel pin
I became a life member at SAF for $150
I offer a free Notary and MSP form for anyone wanting to become a MD Designated Collector
I comply with MD and NFA law, even though I think they are wrong most of the time

I correct shooters who repeat incorrect information, and promote each shooter reading, understanding and following MD law.
