    Picked up my first custom traditional folder the other day, made by John Lloyd.
    Excellant workmanship.

    Augie, that is one outrageously beautiful knife. The stag alone is almost worth self abuse while gazing!!!

    Now, if only GEC would use stag that gorgeous. You have to excuse me now, I have to find a napkin for the drool!

    :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Thanks guys, CB51, the stag is beautiful, John Lloyd has a reputation for having very nice stag.
    Great Eastern lately has nothing to sneeze at, here are 2 recent ones from them.
    Stag is my favorite handle material and I am always looking for outstanding examples. The pruner picture is a pre war George Wostenholm with incredible old stag handles.

    Looked at the OP earlier on my phone, but now looking at the pics on the computer, and wow, it is a beautiful knife, especially with the multilayered Damascus blade. Sometimes the layering pattern is more irregular or suggests less layers, but this particular blade looks amazing. Admired the charred stag handle from the past knife photos that you've shared (some repeated above). Great combination with the Damascus steel. :thumbsup:
