I am running low in Varget and no longer have a good drive-to option for powder and primers. Is anyone interested in a combined online powder/primer order to split hazmat/shipping charges? Or even someone to split an 8# jug of Varget?

I am able to cover Route 40 from Elkton to Havre de Grace, and south on 213 to Chesapeake City.

When are you planning to order and from where? The loss of Cabelas for primers has me concerned but not in immediate need.

Natchez 8# Varget is $207.49, Midway $215.28, Brownell's $194.99, which has to be considered. I am not vendor loyal, except to the lowest overall cost on an order.

    PowderValley $188.95
    Recob's $189.79
    3rdgen $188.95

there are some more but ain't telling:cool:

buy in bulk when you can....
free HM helps catch deals coming up...
just make sure they don't "JACK" the price up
in some cases makes the ones that charge HM cheaper

gonna have to order primers soon...

So.....and I am just thinking out load here. Would it be possible to form some sort of co op to purchase bulk quantities for those who are interested and share some commonality of components. Hazmat is one issue, but the buying power of bulk level purchasing might make it worth forming a co op or club if you will. I would be interested in hearing some more thoughts on the subject....even concerning the legality or practicality of the arrangement.

Just about anything can be done if the desire to do something is there. Having said that, there tends to be some stumbling blocks. For one, someone on point is typically going to be laying out considerable sums of money. Then that same someone is tasked with having to trust that others will actually pay for and claim, what they claimed they wanted. And it’s not like the product can be returned, so there’s risk there. Additionally, there’s the time and effort of coordinating delivery, even if all else goes well.

In sum, unless amongst a close knit group of friends? Component group buys tend not to happen, and for some pretty legitimate reasons.

There does not seem to be enough interest to do a split order, let alone a "co-op".
I'll be ordering myself, but thanks guys for the cheaper powder sources.

This basically sums it up unless it's with people whom are of their word
and you know for sure will pay, not find excuses not to pay. Been there
done that more than once will use 2 examples, Gov liq. they have
everything on file (End-Use Certificate (EUC)) "we" decided to bid on
some ammo cans not once but twice, well I had the account and nfo
on file so was the "point person", "we" won the bid(s) (cheap) when
it came time to "cough up" the funds all kinds of excuses, short of it
I had to eat the "cans" both bids (8 pallets), it worked out though
members on here got a chance to purchase some. Then not learning
won a bid on 5.56 brass all in containers not in the weather rather
cheap, same thing happened...everybody wants to do it in talk but
when it comes down to the $$$$ things change. "Talk is Cheap"
"Close" friends yes we do it,and still do.... but otherwise...NO

Probably in your "best interest" unless you have extra funds laying
    around "just in case"

Group buys do work ..."IF" the people understand as noted ones who
start them, realize the "time" involved and everything that goes with it
group buy on lowers years ago I chipped in the flat rate boxes to have
shipped to the "point person" It's about being a team in return you
would be surprised got a "free lower" as "the group" decided to do it
    I wanted nothing.... Karma....
