Picked up today at HoCo . Large single blade , aprox 3.5in blade of expected shape , aprox 8in oal open . Silver colored bolsters, brown plastic handles, typical of early to mid '70s . ( Source- I was a user of various Barlow knives during early to mid '70s . Mostly switched to Old Timer stockman knives in late '70s , but that's a different tale .)

Anyone know anything about Stag? It says somthing else in fine print below that , but can't make out due to wear. The first letter might be an " O " .

And further any ideas on the specific steel ? ( Carbon steel of course .)

And I found some answers :

    Multiple sources :

Mfg by I.K.A.C. Manufacturing Ltd , Listowel , County Kerry , Ireland . Imported by Concord Shear Company , NY, NY . Imported in 1960s, 70s .

    Single Source :

" Sheffield Steel " was used.
Imperiel \ Schrade had some form of involvement . Not clear to me if ownership intrest in the mfg , or in the distribution chain .
