Mower repair in S. PG?

So my Deere X300 threw it's deck belt and I need a new one installed. Anyone in S. PG/Charles area you all recommend?

I have used Gardiner in Waldorf. They are a Deere dealer and shop.

Yeah, I bought it from them years ago, but they just want way too much money to pick it up etc.

We're about to test out a new to us place , I'll eventually get back to you . My previous go to guy relocated waaay out in the sticks below la Plata .

Marlboro Mower in Croom- ish does good work , but probably similar $ and wait time issues .

***********************

And the basic fact of life is having pickup and return service for riding mowers , from established shops isn't cheap or quick . Ask around locally about guys who do it semi- formally from backyard , but they can be hit or miss unless you have personal recommendations.

For the riding lawnmower lifestyle your basic options ;

1. Be reasonably handy to replace belts , change oil, etc yourself .

2. Have a flat bed trailer, or suitable full size truck with ramps to haul yourself .

3. Budget in the $$ for established dealer to pickup and return . ( And since during peak season it will likely be multiple weeks , have either a backup mower , or arrangements for on call mowing services .)

Yeah, Marlboro has always done work for me in the past. When they worked on it a couple years ago, the main "guy" indicated that he was going to slow it down and eventually stop. I've checked and there are a couple places that will work "on site" but none have gotten back to me....

Guess I'm using the push mower for a while...

Definitely NOT Southern PG, but Atlantic Tractor in Edgewater sent me an email recently about them picking up mowers for repair. They are a Deere shop.

Doesn't Lanham Cycle and Turf on 301 do repairs anymore? What about the Kubota shop next door (Gateway Tractor)? Lanham Cycle and Turf rebuilt a Craftsman mower engine for me about ten years ago and did a great job.

Yeah, I'm going to give it a go myself. Just ordered a belt. Holy crap though, JD must be smoking crack! Their part prices are worse than Toyota. $78 for a JD branded belt?! I think not.
