Perhaps because it’s essentially a “private” zip code it’s not in the USPS database

But use the one USPS web site says despite what the BATFE web site or MSI tell you.

After all it’s the USPS and the Internet which is always accurate

Has anyone actually received their return receipt?

We should find out tomorrow. Many of us who sent letters Saturday should have their letters received by the ATF today.

I’ll report as soon as confirmation comes back for mine.

I wonder if I can hand deliver it since I am like a block away from the ATF :)

Probably a good idea because there are piles of undeliverable mail to BATFE sitting in the PO at No Capitol & Mass Ave because they can’t locate Zip Code 20226

    /sarcasm again

I called and the nice lady over the phone stated that the 20226 zippy was correct...I replied "ah, zip code of one?" she laughed.

Many large entities both govt and private have their own zip code. I find it hard to understand why people seem to think what was given by MSI and published by the BATFE is incorrect

It's not so much that any of us people think it's incorrect. It's that the Post Office does. Their automated systems won't allow you to send to that street address at the ZIP provided by MSI. I'm not worried - it'll get there either way.

Some seem to still be convinced the BATFE web site is incorrect. I do get that sending return receipt requested requires a trip inside the PO but when the USPS tells you it’s wrong even in the face of evidence to the contrary, a little extra work on the senders part may be required.

A little extra work will show the info to be correct despite the USPS insistence it’s not

Could it be that this is possibly the greatest voluntary registration trick of all time? Interesting thought isn't it?:innocent0

Well, other than the fact that there is zero information in MSI's letter that conveys what (if anything) anyone owns or might in the future own, and that the ATF has pretty much said, "We don't care, we won't and can't do anything with any of these, and did we mention we don't care?"
