I don't really have any gun tools and I want some specifically to use on my firearms esp when I go to build my first AR, iam fairly new to this so I don't plan being a gun smith , but id like a kit or even a multi tool that will help me maintain and build the rifle (add accessories clean etc). If you don't mind post some links to what you think a beginner like myself would be best suited for with the above mentioned needs. THANKS

I've never built an AR, but I've seen too many Bubba'd screws over the years. Several years ago I bought a set of screwdrivers/bits from Brownell's, and it's the best 129 bucks I ever spent. I use them on all sorts of things, never been stuck for the right size, and never Bubba'd a screw. Of course, this may not be something you need for your AR, but they'll come in handy for the rest of your life, guaranteed.

I suggest you go for the 84-bit kit if you're going to do it at all; might as well maximise the odds of having exactly what you need.

If it's not for you, consider Brownell's anyway, they'll certainly have whatever you might need.

The one on the left is eyeing the hot chick in the third row.
The one in the middle has eyelid props so you can't tell she is asleep.
The one on the right (only in the picture) is wondering what is going on and why is he here?

This^^^, all day long! Just bite the bullet and do it, and you'll have what you need to work on gun screws properly for the rest of your life. Also, a torque wrench/screwdriver calibrated in inch pounds. Because as they say, an under torqued fastener doesn't hold, and an over torqued fastener is already at least half broken.

    What DaemonAssassin said.

    - Don't skimp on a cheap Armorer's tool. You will quickly want a decent one.
    - Gauges (at least no-go) are non-negotiable. But you can probably beg or borrow for your first build or two, as these aren't cheap
    - Basic tools like a good set of screwdrivers/bits and punches are a MUST HAVE, and not just for smithing. This might include some hex heads and a long driver for the grip, depending on attachment.
    - Extra detents and springs. You WILL lose one at some point.
