    Submitted 12/03

    Mental health check completed 12/10

All other metrics unchecked. Do I need the physical HQL card to arrive before I can fill out msp paperwork or can I just print something off once I'm approved?

Once you get a number, you are good.

Must be many applicants lately or accelerated inefficiency.

I applied on 11/24. Mental Health completed on 11/25. Nothing else has been checked since then. My CJIS came in the mail a few days after the initial application but that doesn't reflect on the MSP's site either.

So as I understand they have 30 days to make a determination for my HQL. What happens if they exceed the 30 days. Am I automatically gtg?

    Started wrong application on 12/08
Paid 12/09 because I started wrong application and had to call the MDSP to straighten that out. Needed to fill out training exempt app since I owned my handgun before 10/2013.
    DHMH completed 12/12
Nothing since. Didn't know about 30 days, was told at gun shop it normally takes about 2-3 weeks.

    Applied 12/3

Now to wait an unreasonable amount of time for it to show up so I can go do a redundant background check and wait 7 more days to get my new gun. From the first day I went to look at guns until I can take possession of one, will be nearly two months. Not reasonable, constitutional, or in my opinion legal. Msp should have 30 days to get it to your door and not a day longer. Taking 26 days to do a few simple checks is absurd then there is no time requirement for them to actually get me the card.

So with the new HQL stuff do you still need to go through the 7 day waiting period once you buy?
