Is there a Ruger Mark II Magazine release upgrade?

I've recently shot my old trusty Ruger Mark II in a few recreational competitions. Speed reloading is nearly impossible due to the way the mag release works (for me at least).

Is there a recommended upgrade that makes this problem go away?

I have never seen one. I will say with practice, it becomes much easier. I have been shooting Ruger Marks for more than 40 years. The magazine release on the Mark III, which is more conventional, is almost unnatural to me.

I stand corrected. I guess it just never bothered me enough to look. I am not wild about the design. It looks like it would be easy to drop the magazine accidentally.
