haha back 4 years ago, this was the exact scenario we ran an emergency drill for at my old school. The scenario was that a tanker truck carrying sulfuric acid overturned in front of the school and we had to respond to protect the kids from the hazmat spill and hazardous gasses outside of the building.
The area is not really Maryland City. It's an old community behind the Starting Gate Lounge on the north side of RT198. Back in the 1960s when Maryland City was built on the south side, they couldn't build the half of the community that was planned for the north side because of various drainage issues. A few years back a company started building town houses there, but they call the development something else. The old community was predominantly African American and dates back to the Civil War era. The local name for it was/is Bacontown.
