Looking to stock up on ammo and take some carbine/pistol classes this upcoming year. I’m halfway decent with each, not a newbie, but not an expert. Any advice on some classes would be greatly appreciated.

I’d be willing to go away for a weekend. Budget I’d like to keep in the hundreds.

In NoVA, look at Green Ops, FPF Training, and Justified Defensive Concepts. All offer one and two day classes on a variety of topics/weapons platforms and skill levels. Prices are not unreasonable.

If you choose to go in one of those directions, feel free to PM me for more info.

I can't give any higher recommendation. the full HEAT class is two days square range culminating in fire and movement most of day two then two days on the tactical ranges in the woods working in pairs and up to 5-6 man teams. The tactical ranges use interactive targets. You'll learn to shoot move and communicate. Well worth the trip. You can camp on site and there is inexpensive lodging in town. I'd check out his video page to get an idea of what he's about.

They are the real deal but I don't think they've run more than half a dozen classes over the last 4 years. If that.

Yeah, that's part of why I said to watch their schedule.

I think some members of the team are busy doing "contract work"

Yeah, the lead instructor mostly does private and group training now. I just did some pistol stuff with him back in September.

And FYI the new company is CMCT Operational Development Solutions.....but it seems to be the same deal with class frequency.
