First off hello to everyone i stumbled on to this forum a few months ago and have found it to be really informative and have really enjoyed reading some of the discussions. I own a fair amount of firearms mostly long arms and a few pistols. This brings me to my current problem i haven't hunted firearm deer season in a few years and realized i have somehow lost the mag for my rifle. It's a savage model 111 30-06. I tried every gun shop that i know of the Pasadena/ glenburnie area. I ordered one from a online vendor over a week ago and it is not looking like it's gonna show in time. Does anyone know where i could get one. Im willing to drive a reasonable distance. Also called bass pro with no luck. Thanks in advance

30-06 too much for deer? Huh

I agree, single load is the answer for now if you have the location to hunt. Remember, some counties are SHOTGUN SLUG/Sabot only.

Hope you checked your rifle recently and are not going to hunt w/o doing so.

    Good LUck

I hunt on the eastern shore rifle county over their, yes of course ive shot it recently that's when i realized the mag had been misplaced the gun has just been sitting in the safe for the last four years without giving it a thought. I just hunt so short of this situation witch i openly admit should have never happened i have no need for multiple clips. Thanks for those of you that can Google too but as stated i already ordered one online it's just not gonna make it here in time. I plan on single shoting it if i can't find one. Looking for one locally or within reasonable driving distance witch i consider a hour or so to be reasonable so that's most of Maryland lol

    Welcome.

I guess some of the members here should piss all over me too. I've had several bolt action hunting rifles that I didn't buy spare magazines for.

Welcome to the forum! Your going to find a bunch of knowledge with this group. Your doing the right thing by asking if anybody knows anyone that has a mag that will fit your rifle. I'm sure someone will be able to put you on track to get one shortly, unfortunate I got nothing.
When you get a chance look at some of the things we do concerning the 2A rights. You might want to get involved with a like-minded group of people and find out how to be effective in conversing with our legislators and letting them know how you feel. Our fight unfortunately has gotten harder year after year but with the dedicated effort of many on here we have managed to at least establish a beachhead, and hold on.Come on down to one of our many events and introduce yourself and above all have a good time on the forum here.
Look forward to meeting you some day, hopefully in Annapolis !
    Shameless plug over.
    Back to the usual shenanigans.

30-06 took many deer around my house. It was a sporterized Mauser personally imported from Nazi Germany by my uncle. Of course the thuty-thuty is what most people think of when shooting in the smaller Eastern States.
