Just as I have done with several candidates over the past month or so, I had a chance to sit down and speak with Joseph Delimater, running for Sheriff in AACo.

    He is one of us.

He is already deeply involved with the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, and the Institute on the Constitution, here in the county.

He has asked that folks from all up and down the county become involved, and is interested in meeting anyone who either wants to chat 1:1, or to groups of any size.

So, if anyone is interested in removing Ron Bateman (which you should be--he is no friend to Liberty), look into getting involved with someone who is definitely interested in standing between you and the infringements of the State.

    Great!

I was once an acquaintance of Ron Bateman when he was AAPD Northern District Captain. I liked him, he was professional and came up through the ranks with a couple of other buds.

However, since he sold us down the river I have been waiting for a chance to throw his sellout a&& out of office.

    Lets do it! :party29:

    Good to hear!

I grew up in the same neighborhood and knew him through Little League as well.

IMO, Ronnie is still trying to please his father.

As for Joe, he is looking for people to set up Meet-n-Greets, provide events to attend, and of course make donations and do some legwork.

You can reach him through the website, or at joe4sheriff@gmail.com

I have no affiliation with the campaign, other than as an interested voter and concerned citizen.

I just received a phone call from Joe, and he is getting in gear to make a visibility run for November. He will be putting out signs and canvassing beginning today.

Anyone interested in supporting him, please be sure to donate, and if you want a yard sign, contact him through the website (though it appears to be offline at the moment), or the email listed above.

I do not live in Anne Arundel, I live in Carroll County, but I had a chance to meet Joe and hear him speak at a presentation in Westminster by the Institute on the Constitution, and was very favorably impressed. FWIW, I strongly second the recommendation.

If anything, a great 2A Sheriff can be one buffer against a county "machine" of gun grabbers.

And most citizens see Sheriffs as lawmen first, politicians second, so even in an overwhelmingly Demotard district, a 2A candidate with a lot of yards signs and sign wavers can win.

Interesting...no LEO experience and is running for sheriff.

Not an issue. Being Sheriff and running a Sheriff dept really has nothing to do with day to day law enforcement duties to "protect" a county per se. The "law enforcement" scope is very limited since in Anne Arundel county Deputies do not patrol. We have a county police dept for that.

The Sheriff dept is in charge of courthouse security, transportation of prisoners and civil process enforcement serving warrants, subpoenas and child support enforcement issues. All the boring leg work side of law enforcement.

A Sheriff just needs to learn the limited duties and know how to manage a workforce. He really doesn't exert anything influential in the big picture, unlike a Sheriff in a county where they are the primary law enforcement agency (police dept.). In AA county, just be a quiet elected official and serve those $40 papers.

While I agree 100% with Blaster and Mr H, i just don't see the masses voting for a Sheriff with no LEO experience...He will get my vote though

As was said by John previously, Bateman is a good cop...a very close friend worked with him at Northern way back, but lousy politically

He had me at "a constitutional sheriff", he's got my vote.

So, what does that mean for the position of an AA county Sheriff that's basically a desk job? I think people think our Sheriff is in charge of enforcing the whole spectrum of penal code. He's an admin officer.
