On a side note, if you believe that our rights to own various styles of rifles/handguns here in Maryland will continue to erode, then perhaps getting training on the shotgun for defensive purposes would be worth your time. That's where I am with things, anyway.

Thanks for these interesting posts. I am of the same mindset that I need to shift to a backup plan for defensive long guns that passes political muster.
