I belong to ACG (Monumental), but I've never seen anyone shooting steel there, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm talking about doing rhythm drills (preferably from the holster) at 12 to 15 yds on 8" or 10" challenge plates.

Anyone know of a place that allows this setup? I tried several searches on the forums, but came up short.

    Sorry

At this time the AGC does not allow holsters

No steel on the pistol range

Rim fire only at steel on the 100 yrd range set at 100 yards

Steel silhouette shoots happen on the 200yrd range every month

Please take the time to read the rules of the range where you shoot.

I was asking about *other* places to shoot steel/holsters. I only shoot rifle so far at ACG, so I never even bothered with the pistol range. It's quite obviously a static/target range. Thanks for the help, though.

No need. I'm not offended and I didn't mean to sound "snippy". I was just looking for places I *can* shoot steel. Finding places I *can't* is easy. ACG, like a lot of regulated target ranges, is too strict on pistols for my taste. I'm looking for somewhere "tactical pistol" friendly (I'm a LEO and Federal FI, FWIW).

Honestly, I do not expect too many places to allow what I'm looking for - but I won't know unless I look.

mcbruzdzinski: Thanks for the pointer, I'll look into that one.

    Where steel is allowed:

Thurmont Conservation and Sportsman's Club, Inc

    Mayberry Game Protective Association, Inc.

Summit Point Racetrack, Summit Point, WV

    Sometime at Quantico USMC.

    Good luck

Monocacy Pistol Club in Frederick has steel and allows holsters. It's only for members, but their matches are open to the public and include steel shoots on most weekends. You can meet some members at the matches and decide if you want to join. Normally, there is a waiting list to become a member.

It would great if the AGC range would put in some pistol lanes with steel targets, especially since I live near it and have membership there. However, I don't know what it would take for that to happen.
