Status of SB0097: Firearms - Medical Cannabis

I have a very close friend whose doctor wants to try her on medical cannabis for chronic migraines, but also doesn't want to give up her gun rights. I know this bill passed its third reading but that was the last it did. Was it a victim of sine die?

For those not familar SB97;
"Providing that a person may not be denied the right to purchase, possess, or carry a firearm solely on the basis that the person is authorized to use medical cannabis."

For what its worth, cannabis actually has helped her tremendously in the past with them. I know she wouldn't be able to purchase new guns due to federal law, but we'd both feel a lot more comfortable if this law was to pass.

Courtesy of MSI:
HB749/SB97 Firearms - Right to Purchase, Possess, and Carry - Use of Medical Cannabis
These bills would have prevented MSP from denying gun buyers, owners, and permit applicants over medical cannabis use. SB97 passed the Senate but wasn't considered in the House Judiciary Committee. We testified on the bill to advise about federal law, but took no position on the bill.
Regardless of this bill's status, according to the ATF medical cannabis users are prohibited persons under Federal law, who cannot purchase or possess, firearms or ammunition.

sb0097 passed the Senate, but it never made it out of the House judiciary committee. There were quite a few cannabis-related bills. This particular one didn't make it.

If she’s on medical cannabis, she will give up her gun rights. Even if this bill passed and became law in MD, it doesn’t supersede federal law.
