Slight thread derail but for those of you who pocket carry a .380 where do you carry your other pocket gear like keys, wallet, knives, etc...?

About 90% of the time I'm wearing jeans with a skinny wallet in the front left (used to carry it left rear and it had a tendency to turn into the 3" George Costanza wallet) and my keys in the front right, knife in the rear right and usually a small flashlight in rear left. I tried pocket carry with a Colt Mustang but A) hated my keys riding in the front left with my wallet and B) the draw was slower than on the hip.

And most of these pocket pistols are at best "bad breath" distance accurate while the 365 doesn't realize how tiny it is and shoots like it's bigger brothers.

I shoot more 9 ammo but carry a .380 more often.

Typing made me realize I need to take the LCP to the range more.

My wife loves her S&W Shield 380 EZ. I confess it really is a ball to shoot. She also likes her big new 9mm CZ, but the 380 is, for her, a perfect pistol.

Wifey's interested in the Shield. Is it big enough to grip with the whole hand? Her hands are on the small side. She wants something she can shoot comfortably like a G19 but is easy for her to rack, unlike a G19.

In that mode, I use a Ruger LCP2. In its provide pocket holster, it can live in many of back pockets, but that’s a fussy draw. Whenever possible, use a loose layer untucked, and carry it IWB at 4:00-ish. In the summer when I can, it’s cargo shorts and the pistol goes on the right thigh. In some settings, I can wear long pants with cargo pockets, so the same arrangement.

If I need to be down one pocket item, the phone goes in a bag and my iWatch keeps me connected without that object needing to tie up a pocket.

Wifey tried my Glock 17 but was not happy. As such, I am looking at purchasing either a .32 or .380 semi auto to start off. The great guys at United Gun Shop took the time to show me some models. One was pretty much a newer release. Very light but good feel in the hand. It was a little while ago. Perhaps an S&W? Not a Ruger. Brother in Law in Pittsburgh carries a 32 for concealed.

The M&P380EZ would be an excellent choice for a woman. It is easy to rack, no safety to worry about (uses a grip safety) and is easy to load. Big enough to not recoil too bad and fits nicely in a purse. ;)

Knife clip appendix carry clipped inside pants, keys on belt, flashlight clipped in left rear pocket, pistol in right front pocket if cargo pants, right rear pocket on jeans and wallet goes to left front pocket.

I no longer buy into that thinking. Since i started collecting pocket pistols, ive been able to hit a 10" gong at 40 yards with several 25acp pistols including a baby browning. I believe its more the lack of good sights with short radius that makes them hard to shoot. id love to try a red dot on one to see how far i can hit just for fun.

It’s a cream puff. Long enough slight to help with recoil and a decent sight picture. Ultra easy to load, rack, shoot. Highly recommended for people with less hand strength or for noobs. You have to give some thought to whether you want the version with or without the safety.

Not saying that it can't be done but I would wager that your average shooter and carrier of these diminutive pistols couldn't, especially under stress.

Probably true unless they practice with them. I always trained with my backup guns even when it was a Chief Special. In the 16 or so years I shot IDPA, I used my NAA Guardian and Kel Tec P3AT for many bug gun matches. The people who never shot pocket guns were surprised how accurate and reliable they are.

I've sold several EZs just in the past few months. Easy to rack and the size is perfect for recoil management with the 380. I personally, would be unlikely to carry one (my favorites are the XDs and the Glock 43) but for those who might struggle with a 9mm, it is much better to shoot a firearm you can handle rather than one that might be ballistically superior that you cannot.
