    All,

I have an sks and with the scope mount as part of the receiver cover - Im wondering when i go to strip and clean the rifle, wont that mess up the zero when i remove and replace that cover?

As opposed to the iron sights fixed on the barrel?

    Or is it okay?

Those cover mounted optics are generally considered junk.

There are more expensive and stable solutions. One is a scout mount that replaces the rear sight and attaches securely, but is not permanent.

Another option is to drill and tap the receiver for a side optics mounting rail. Using either an inexpensive shotgun scope mount, or more expensive drop rails that allow mounting of comm block surplus scopes.
