I have had this MagnetoSpeed V3 for over a year. I used it a few times and put it up for almost a year. Got it out yesterday to chrono a few rifles. It was as easy to set up and use as It was a year ago.

I'm amazed at the ease of use and the ability to collect velocity data almost anywhere, anytime.

I kept notes on the spacer set up from last year. I used the same spacers and checked alignment with the rod. Alignment was confirmed, I was shooting and collecting data.

I forgot a spare battery. When I started reading the instructions I learned that I could substitute cr123 batteries. I have several packs of those to power my flashlight and thermal weapon sight. Luckily, I did not have to resort to that as the original battery was still good.

A few minutes with the instructions, a few minutes of set up and I was gathering data.

I was just shopping the v3 yesterday. It can alter bullet trajectory slightly unlike a traditional chrono. The review you posted claims it doesn't, but I've seen others that have claimed it does. Just means you've got to shoot for velocity separate from grouping. Attaching anything to your barrel can have a harmonic effect - otherwise folks wouldn't free-float barrels.

Anything hanging on the end of a barrel affects harmonics. But it did not affect my group size.

I shot a group to check if there was a point of impact shift and there was none. However, as you can see in the photos I already had a suppressor on the end of the barrel

yeah that's the only downside i've heard is POI shift, other than that super easy and you don't have to hold up all your buddies on the firing line to position (and reposition and reposition) your old school chrono (ie, what i have).

there is some guy making a mount that locks on a rail on your handguard thus keeping it off the barrel. and MPA (and maybe others) have a mount off their chassis systems with the same idea.

curious, is that bolt gun 6.5 creed?
