So I picked up a hybrid poly/aluminum receiver. This receiver is the OMNI made in USA by American Tactical. Picked it about 6 months ago. Great price with aluminum thread and take down beds. So I finally chose which direction to go in.
I acquired a new assembled upper receiver with charging handle. I faced it off to true it then installed a 300 Black Out 8:1 twist barrel with in line comp. I used a truly budget handguard. Trigger group is Schmidt Tool and Machine nickel teflon single stage trigger. The lpk parts are selected overstock parts, Magpul grip and Windham Weaponry stock.
Shoots well with Armscorp 147 grain super sonic ammo to sight in and get to know it. Federal Supersonic 150 grain proved the performance. At 100 yards using both MBUS and SPARC II this carbine is 1/2 claybird moa. The comp works and the carbine functioned 100%.
Even in this age this carbine is a true reasonable cost build. I built it because I had a couple of the the parts and ammo, plus the market could make it a good candidate to use as a resource for new projects. It tips the scale around 6.25 pounds. While not an sbr it is a nibble carbine. After shooting it and handling it...seems like a keeper. A pic with my partner waiting to move up from carbine to overwatch.
