This house has been a love/hate relationship for me. I've bid there often but rarely walked away with anything. Locals are deep pocketed and the buyer's premium really puts the hurt on your wallet. Think Redding but with a 25% tax slapped on when you factor in the premium and PA sales tax (or shipping if you're bidding absentee).

You absolutely have to figure, in advance of bidding, what is the max you are willing to spend including all the extras fees, charges tax or shipping because things move too fast once the bidding starts. That also means you have to know what you are bidding on and what condition it is in. Hard to tell from 2 or 3 pics on an auction site.

The hope is, you will be bidding on something most collectors consider off beat an uninteresting, or you've done your home work better than everyone else and recognize some rarity than everyone else has overlooked.

Well that was ugly! Was all set to place an aggressive bid on the Mauser 1934 when bidding sky rocketed past me and current market value. A few bargains but most everything went for market value or above. Can't say I was surprised. The search for a nice Mauser goes on! Will find one when I least expect it, that's how it usually goes.

I saw a caution to "read our policy on high cap magazines" I could not find that policy on their website. Lots of S&W's some C&R

Got out bid by a whole $25 on the 1889 Schmidt Rubin. Oh well. Lots of money being thrown around that place today! There were some lots that sold for amounts guaranteed to make consignors very happy.
