In less than 3 weeks, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, there will be a General Election to elect the Governor, Lt Governor, Attorney General, all the members of the House of Delegates, and many local offices.

This message addresses VCDL-PAC's endorsements for the House of Delegates only. The endorsements for the Governor, Lt Governor, and Attorney General will be issued in a separate message.

If you don't see an endorsement for your House of Delegates District, contact your candidates and POLITELY, but firmly, insist that they go on record and answer the VCDL Candidate Survey!

A candidate must complete the VCDL Candidate Survey in order to be considered for endorsement. In addition to their Survey response, VCDL-PAC factors in voting record (if any) and public statements (if
any) the candidates make on this issue before issuing an endorsement.

VCDL-PAC is proud to endorse the following 17 candidates for the House of Delegates:

District 3 -- WILL MOREFIELD ! Will is one of our most solid supporters, and has turned in yet another VERY PRO-GUN survey!

District 6 -- JEFF CAMPBELL ! We endorsed Jeff in his first run, and he delivered immediately! He is as solid as they come!

District 13 -- BOB MARSHALL ! Delegate Bob is consistently one of our very strongest and most faithful allies. He is A CHAMPION of school carry!

District 24 -- BEN CLINE ! Ben Just might have the ONLY absolutely unblemished record in the GA! He is as faithful as they come!

District 26 -- TONY WILT ! Tony carries pro-gun bills REGULARLY, and he has turned in his strongest survey EVER!

District 31 -- SCOTT LINGAMFELTER ! Scott had routinely carried 2-3 gun bills a year, before taking the Chair of the Militia, Police, & Public Safety Committee. He fought to eliminate the $35 portion of the permit fee this year, and even got the Va. Sheriffs Assn ON BOARD! He has already submitted a major initiative for 2018, and is being HEAVILY targeted by out-of-state money. He deserves and needs our support!

District 33 -- DAVE LaROCK ! Dave turned in a "Very Pro-Gun" survey, and he is our strongest ally for Class III issues!

District 51 -- RICHARD ANDERSON ! Rich turned in a VERY PRO-GUN survey, carries pro-gun bills, and has an outstanding voting record.

District 56 -- JOHN McGUIRE ! John sent in a VERY PRO-GUN survey, and has the support of one of the few Commonwealths Attorneys that we trust. He served in the Navy SEAL teams, and fought his way back from a crippling injury. If he shows A TENTH of that tenacity in protecting our right, he will be a truly valuable addition to the House!

District 64 -- EMILY BREWER ! Emily AGGRESSIVELY courted VCDL-PAC's support and answered the VCDL Candidate Survey "Very Pro-Gun"! She knows what's important, and who her allies are!

District 65 -- LEE WARE ! He has turned in another VERY PRO-GUN survey, and regularly carries bills for VCDL.

District 72 -- EDDIE WHITLOCK ! Eddie turned in a VERY PRO-GUN survey!

District 88 -- MARK COLE ! Mark carries multiple bills, year in, and year out! He is one of our most loyal friends!

District 94 -- MICHAEL BARTLEY ! Libertarian Michael Bartley submitted a "Very Pro-Gun" survey. We are proud to have Michael's support, and we support HIM!

District 96 -- BRENDA POGGE ! Brenda has consistently supported us, and routinely carried parking lot bills!

District 97 -- CHRIS PEACE ! Delegate Peace has been around for a long time, but this is the first time during my tenure that he has turned in a VCDL survey! We are thrilled to have him aboard!

District 99 -- MARGARET RANSONE ! Margaret turns in VERY PRO-GUN surveys, year after year, and votes ROCK SOLID!

The surveys were received from both candidates after the House endorsements were sent out, but VCDL-PAC is proud to endorse:

District 30 -- NICK FREITAS ! Delegate FREITAS is a former Green Beret and has shown the same tenacity in the House that he showed on the battlefield!

District 60 -- JIM EDMUNDS ! Delegate EDMUNDS just turned in his strongest survey ever!

There was an important error made in the VCDL-PAC Local Endorsements for Prince George County: somehow Marlene Waymack's survey was overlooked. :-(

BOTH MARLENE WAYMACK (I) and BILL GANDEL (I) turned in VERY PRO-GUN SURVEYS in Prince George County, and gun owners should give them both careful consideration.

Emily Brewer is running for the House of Delegates in the 64th District.
She courted VCDL-PAC's endorsement more enthusiastically than any candidate ever has!

On the day after the Las Vegas shooting, she sat for her endorsement interview with the Daily Press. She stood firm -- no new gun control schemes. Her opponent, a defense attorney, has no problem with infringements. Guess who the Daily Press endorsed.

Delegate SCOTT LINGAMFELTER represents residents of Fauquier and Prince William Counties. He has a lengthy history of pushing pro-gun initiatives, including the near-single-handed repeal of the odious one-handgun-a-month rationing law. Virtually no one wanted to deal with it, but he refused to take no for an answer. He also had a record of carrying multiple gun bills per year, until he took over the House Committee which hears gun bills. I happen to know that he already plans a major initiative for 2018.

As a result of his extensive pro-gun record, SCOTT LINGAMFELTER is being AGGRESSIVELY targeted by BOTH in state and out-of-state interests. The resources being thrown at him are staggering!

VCDL-PAC has already made a monetary contribution to his campaign, and we encourage others to do so as well, but what he needs now are BODIES!
He needs outside workers to greet folks at the polls, and inside workers to check off voters as they show up. That way, they can reach out to those who haven't voted and get them to the polls. All you need is a cell phone, they will provide the data.

GOVERNOR

VCDL-PAC endorses ED GILLESPIE for Governor!

ED GILLESPIE turned in a PRO-GUN survey and has pledged to overturn Executive Order 50 (Governor McAuliffe's emergency executive order banning guns in state-agency buildings).

ED GILLESPIE's Democrat opponent means four more years of McAuliffe's anti-gun, anti-self-defense doctrine. Four more years of the status quo simply cannot be tolerated. On top of that, as Lt. Governor, Ralph Northam single-handedly killed Constitutional Carry in 2016! And he has stated publicly that he was proud to have a failing grade on gun rights.
Since he's proud of failing, let's make sure he fails at the polls on Tuesday, November 7.


LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

VCDL-PAC endorses JILL VOGEL for Lieutenant Governor!

JILL VOGEL has been a friend to gun owners for ten years, got us Glovebox Carry, co-patroned Universal Recognition, and carried THREE gun bills this year alone, fighting for all three, right down to veto day!
If you missed the second debate on 10/5/17, she ignored the noise about "bump stocks," and stood firm that she was "not running to infringe on ANY Constitutional rights!"

Unbelievably, her opponent favors mandatory gun insurance, universal background checks, and he even called for CONFISCATION of certain classes of guns! VCDL-PAC takes any threats of gun confiscation extremely seriously.


ATTORNEY GENERAL

Since neither candidate answered the VCDL Candidate survey, VCDL-PAC can take no position on the Attorney General race. It is worth noting that as Attorney General, Mark Herring tried to BLOCK CHP reciprocity with 25 states and has recently signed on OPPOSING National CHP Reciprocity!
