    Anyone do roofing/siding?

I have a leak where a roof hits a wall. I am fairly sure that it is flashing, and while I have some strong DIY skills, I despise roofing/siding/being on a ladder.

I had a guy come out who is more of a general contractor and he told me that they put the wrong type of siding on, and offered some alternate solution of shooting roofing tar between the siding and the house. I have no idea if that is a solution or not, but I need a second opinion, because that sounds fishy.

I am located in Silver Spring, kind near Burtonsville/White Oak.

As an added bonus, I have ripped the drywall out where the leak is, so you can see exactly where it is.
