people looking for government to solve our moral problems .[/QUOTE]

Agreed. Prayers up for all involved.
Clamoring for " peace and safety " but denying the Truth and the symptoms' root causes, the reality is there's no path remaining to resolve the problems.

Sorry to hear the kids caused this trouble in your church's parking lot, Stoveman. Hoping the families will be drawn inside.

Not surprised that you would be the contrarian.

If it wasn't a murder why did he run? Even if he was high and made the wrong choice at the moment it's been over 24 hours and still on the lam.

Not surprised you would be assuming a lot and flaming the winds of hysteria. Why would a 20 year old run? Maybe he was scared he had an illegal gun on him, maybe he was scared he had illegal drugs on him, maybe he was just scared. If it was an accident, it will probably lead to a manslaughter charge anyway. People run for lots of reasons, even when it isn't murder. Lots of people in auto accidents flee the scene, and there was never any intent to cause the auto accident in the first place. You need intent for it to be murder.

Do you have any additional facts other than that he is a suspect in the shooting and wanted by HoCo police? Anything more than what little is reported in that news article that you linked? Anything to actually show that this guy is a murderer in a drug deal gone bad, because based upon your title that is where my mind went right away, until I actually did some reading.

Throw me a bone here to help support your murder label of the suspect.

End of the day, you might be right. However, what you have posted so far does not support your conclusion of "murder" or even anything nefarious happening in your church parking lot other than the possession of a handgun by somebody under the age of 21, and even there I am assuming that it was a handgun.

Did HoCo police tell you that the guy is wanted for murder?

I sit here wondering if this is the result of poor parenting.

That's because your children are young. Kids can get themselves in trouble regardless of how good the parenting is. As long as a kid has free will they have the ability to make bad choices outside the purview of the parents.

Perhaps you could "did some reading" back on the OP ... Stove clearly states that he spent hours with the police and the security videos.

That he hasn't posted the entirety of the videos to your satisfaction is irrelevant.

Stoveman, I'm the Security Ministry leader for my church.
I've never met you in person but in our limited correspondence I'm quite confident that your church is in very competent hands.

God bless you and your church and stay vigilant.

Found out this weekend ( Sunday ) after seeing one guy on the security team ask a homeless guy to take his backpack and put it outside , he is an active duty cop . I also seen him printing a few weeks ago . I had a conversation about security at our church .
They have a few current and retired LE as security . He told me to make sure i took care of my family first and foremost ...

True. That doesn’t mean the parents didn’t do a crappy job. We don’t know any of that at this point. And it’s amazing how quickly kids can go off course even if they get the best parenting. Still, I think we’d all agree that the probability of a kid going off course drops dramatically with engaged parents.

Arrested in North Carolina according to HoCo pd social media

yes, and charged with murder "and other offenses"

Rane Dellinger, 20, of Autumn Hill Drive in Ellicott City, is charged with first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony and illegal possession of a handgun, police said.

illegal use of a handgun seems a little redundant... maybe this time he'll get jail.

F Dellinger. I taught Jake's little brother for years. His little bro is a great kid, but has some hard times of his own and this isn't going to help any. The middle bro is still in high school. This is tough timing, since Zaremba was supposed to graduate wed and teachers here are already kind've bummed thinking of that loss.

Spoke to my youngest. He was in several classes with them while at CHS. Rumor has it, it was accidental, that they were messing around with the gun and it went off. The third boy was the deceased’s brother. Imagine being that boy. Or the parents of any of them.

I haven't said anything until now, but I'm Jacob's grandfather. We were at his house yesterday, the family, especially his "middle" brother "Xander" are just wrecked. Wife and I are still pretty numb.

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts and prayers. My son's family and friends will need all the prayers that can be provided as they work through their grieving. The thought returned to me that I had when my daughter passed last year from cancer: "This isn't right - THEY should be putting ME in the ground after a long and peaceful life." This is all in God's plan for whatever reason, we're sure.

The charges against Dellinger (the shooter) are first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony, and a handgun on his person. I hope he's held without bail.

Wife and I are worried that Dellinger's dope fiend friends don't try to exact revenge on the family for this. If they try here they will be in for a VERY unpleasant surprise.

Anyway, thanks again for the comfort. We carry on day by day.
