Also, join www.snaggedline.com. it is the Maryland kayak fishing community. There is a lot of good help and experience on that forum.

 Thanks John. I've been checking them out since you posted this. Haven't joined yet. Noticed you use your MDS username. I'll probably do that too. Hope it doesn't ruffle feathers over there ...

I use the same name everywhere. I'm too old to learn new tricks.

Guns and Rotors is patriotic to me. Take a look at my signature and you'll understand why.:party29:

I have Sir, and thank you for your service! :patriot:

Started an account over there last night. Ref old dog/new tricks, same here. I'm GnR here, at MD Preparedness, and now on Snaggedline.

Still haven't received an email to complete the registration process on Snaggedline, so I can't post there yet or view attachments.

I'm planning on picking up a pair of kayaks this year. I'm all over the place but am leaning pretty hard towards the Perception Pescador Pro 12.

Nice looking boat, but I have a few questions on it Kaku.

What is that back hatch in the tankwell?
Can you still fit a crate back there as the hatch looks to be a angle. I'm pretty sure my 6 gallon crate wouldnt fit in it.
Does it have a rudder kit? Looks like it built for a power pole in the back.

I love the built in tracks

I’ve not even fooled with mine yet, it arrived just before Christmas and it was snowy and cold so it went in the shed and I don’t figure it will see water until April.
I’m sure I could put you in touch with someone who could answer your questions.

Took the OP kayak out on Saturday and pedaled about a mile down my creek. Had the wind and tide at my back and that thing was really moving. Turned around and started back home when my legs started to burn. Switched to paddling, but was making terrible headway against the wind and the tide. Started pedaling again and off I went. No kidding guys, it's like having a trolling motor - it's "that" effective. Don't get me wrong - I was huffing and puffing toward the end ... and dreading the thought of pulling the rig back up the hill to my house, but was still moving fast and tracking well into some pretty high winds even when I was dog tired.

Photo below shows new d-rings welded on the trailer/cart/thing and an anchor trolley (installed one on the other side too):

You can probably do 4.5 to 5mph but you need to stay around 3 - 3.5 to be sustainable. Trolling you probably want to be around 2mph.

Now that you got that rig you need one nice rod and some of these rigs. You can make or buy them. Limited to two hooks.

Have a birthday coming up and I'm open to suggestions for a new trolling rod/reel.:)

I already have a Penn 209 and 309, mounted on medium tidewater rods. They might not be good enough to haul that rig in your video, let alone a truly big Rockfish.
