Just can't win. Bonus: there's a live round in there too. Prolly just sell it and give up once it's fixed.

Its VERY common for Remington 700 Bolts to do that. Especialy with reloads. The joint is Hi Temp Silver Solder. Cant count how many I have seen that.

It dont usually break unless to take a hammer or mallet to it, to open the siezed bolt.

Theres 3 ways to make it right:

    1) Silver Solder a new handle to it
    2) Silver SOlder a new handle then drill it and tap it in 2 spots for screws for added strenght
3)Weld a new handle on (Only a few Outfits can fo this the RIGHT way)

This problem is one of the MANY reasons I dont reload.

I thought 700's are supposed to be some of the best rifles out there and they have soldered bolts? Interesting. I hope the ones used by our military aren't like that.

Did you break the handle off?

Reloads will usually be the ones to stick so tight the andle will shear off with a rubber mallet hit.

Surplus will usually open with a mallet and no damage.

    Meh, what do I know.

They are one of the best production rifles made.

They are ALL soldered unless modified. US Military use relaods that are done correctly, or is commercially loaded.

Its not a weapon problem, its a load problem.

Would you be pissed because you car wouldnt run on biodiesel you made at home?

Hey, my friends shot .308 NATO out of some M-44 Mosins and they didn't have too many problems. Just don't ask me why or how.
