These events are a good thing for sure but I wonder how much of identity theft actually occurs via other-than-electronic means anymore. Is there someone out there still stealing mail or checking your recycling bins for old bills? I'm sure there is but I bet its a tiny part of the whole problem nowadays.
It beats throwing your CC statements in the trash.
