I was recently at the Arlington Rifle and Pistol steel shoot and they had various steel targets setup as close as 12yds. Does anyone know if this is allowed only because it was a special hosted event.
I know I could look it up but it's easier to ask you : Is that the same lane that allows drawing from holster (for those qualified?) Being able to practice drawing and shooting steel would be pretty cool

Handguns with barrels 10” or less in length may be fired at fixed, steel-plate targets set up in the brackets placed on the back side of the railroad ties at approximately 24 yards, on positions 53, 54, 55, 56, 57 and 58 ONLY.

Correct. Chapter XIX of the Policy and Procedures manual give clubs special exceptions for club events.Yes!!
Actually there is more than one for steel over there.
club rules are different than steel rules for individuals.
